Brand Logos & Type Taxonomy

A logo is the signature of software craftsmanship. Across Deriva and its product ecosystem, logos operate under two specialized lockup formats: Small (Icon Only) and Big (Wordmark with Text).

Small (Icon Only)

Optical Logomark
Deriva Small Logo
Core Purpose & Environment

The concentrated distillation of the brand symbol. Engineered for high-density spatial constraints where wordmarks would become illegible.

  • Browser favicons & PWA app launcher tiles

  • Mobile navigation bars & collapsed rails

  • User avatars, social handles & app badges

Target Canvas: 16px × 16px to 512px × 512px · Aspect Ratio 1:1

Big (With Wordmark)

Full Identity Lockup
Deriva Big Logo
Core Purpose & Environment

The authoritative complete brand presentation combining the logomark glyph with the refined product wordmark.

  • Desktop global navigation headers

  • Documentation mastheads & release notes

  • Keynote presentations, banners & invoices

Target Canvas: 851x315 to 4096x2000 (4K) · Horizontal Lockup

Clear Space & Integrity Invariants

Preserving visual authority requires strict geometric isolation. The logomark and wordmark must breathe freely, immune to clutter, compression, or unauthorized color manipulation.

X = Isolation Buffer

Deriva Big Logo Clear Space Reference

Rule: Clear Space X ≥ 50% Logomark Height

No text or UI inside zone

The X-Clearance Equation

No secondary text, graphics, screen borders, or adjacent navigation elements may encroach upon the exclusion boundary. The dimension X is determined as exactly half the bounding height of the mark glyph.

01
Navigation Bar Padding

Maintain minimum 24px vertical padding and 32px horizontal padding when locking big logos inside global application headers.

02
Co-Branding Separation

Partner or sub-brand lockups must be separated by an isolation divider hairline spaced by 2X on both lateral sides.

Minimum Optical Reproduction

Logos must never be scaled below their minimum optical recognition threshold.

Unacceptable Manipulations

The integrity of Deriva logos is non-negotiable. The following deformations undermine legibility and brand trust.

Never Distort Aspect Ratio
Never Distort Aspect Ratio

Never stretch, condense, or alter horizontal/vertical scaling proportions.

Never Recolor Arbitrarily
Never Recolor Arbitrarily

Do not apply custom tinting, rainbow gradients, or neon fills outside token specs.

Never Apply Heavy Shadows
Never Apply Heavy Shadows

Never add heavy raster drop shadows, outer glows, or 3D extrusions to logos.

Never Rotate or Skew
Never Rotate or Skew

Always keep lockups aligned to the strict horizontal horizon of the canvas.
